Pregnancy and Eating Disorders Are Correlated

Eating disorders are common during pregnancy. You must take care a lot of care. Pregnancy and eating disorders are correlated.

It is very important that eating habits must be proper and regular. Eating is truly important for your life. If you live a healthy life by eating properly, it is really very good for you. There are many disorders that happen in your body merely because you do not eat properly. Both under nutrition and over nutrition is bad for health.

Women and not only around the world suffer from eating disorders. Some of these eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia can cause serious damage to your metabolism, immune system and respiratory tract. If you don't seek for help as soon as possible you can find yourself in an emergency situation sooner rather than later. Eating disorders are mainly due to psychological problems and needs support.

This is why it is so important to truly watch yourself, especially if you are going through a time of extreme stress or confusion, because these are the times when you are more likely to begin suffering from something such as an eating disorder. Also know that eating disorders are an incredibly serious thing, and that you should never pretend or think otherwise. You must discuss this problem with your family and friends. This is truly a serious problem and must be attended. It needs guidance of an expert. You may visit a psychologist or a dietician to take guidance.

Even before conceiving and eating disorder such as anorexia can affect your changes of having a baby as generally those who suffer of this disease do not have their normal menstrual cycle and even if they have it, it is not regular and that can affect the possibility of becoming pregnant in the first place.

Pregnancy and eating disorders can cause a lot of problems both for the mother and the child such as: premature labor, child born under weight, Cesarean birth due to premature labor, respiratory problems, complications during labor, depression and in the worse case still born child or fetal death.

Pregnancy is a difficult time on its own causing huge changes in the body, mood and eating patterns if you combine pregnancy and eating disorders that are preexistent it can be a very difficult time both for the mother and the child alike. Pregnancy and eating disorders do not go together at all; women who suffer from preexisting eating disorders will be faced with greater challenges in the nine months of pregnancy.

Women who have eating disorders can have healthy babies but they need to acknowledge their problem and resolve it before it affects the baby as well. There are many programs available, which can help you, deal with pregnancy and eating disorders but you will have to voluntarily sign up for them before you endanger your health and the life of your baby.

Many women with eating disorders fear that they can never have a healthy baby or family life and often give up on it without realizing that there is a way to help both the mother and the child. Eating disorders can be brought under control in order to have a normal childbirth if you will follow special designed programs that help and deal with pregnancy and eating disorders.

The most important thing or an activity is eating. In life, you need to eat to carry on with your daily activities. All your metabolic functions depend on eating. Thus doctors always advice to eat properly. You must eat nutritious food. The food eaten must be hygienic and good for health.
