Herbal, Natural, Home Remedies for Arthritis
Arthritis is known from its characteristic joint pain, which also represents the literal translation of the word. Those with arthritis generally are treated by their physician with anti-inflammatory medications and use over the counter medications.
- An herbal remedy solution for arthritis sufferers is "urtication." This method of treatment gets its name from Urtica dioica, the technical name for stinging nettle. This herb is known to have existed for over two thousand years and has roots in biblical times. The method of use for this plant is to take the nettles and apply them to sore joints. Although this seems like it would be painful, many arthritis sufferers swear by the method of treatment.
- Intake of radish juice mixed with sugar is very therapeutic for arthritis.
- On an empty stomach take 3-4 walnuts (akhrot) or 1 fresh coconut.
- Warm mustard oil, spread it over Madar leaf ( Indian ) and foment the joint by spreading the leaf over the joint and keeping it there for a few hours for arthritis relief.
- Take one part honey to two parts of Luke warm water and add a small teaspoon of cinnamon powder, make a paste and massage it on the itching part of the body. It is noticed that the pain recedes within a minute or two. Or for arthritis patients daily morning and night take one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If drunk regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a research done at the Coppen Hagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week out of the 200 people so treated practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain and within a month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without pain.
- 1 tbs juice of fresh leaves of bathua, drink every day on an empty stomach for 2-3 months. Do not add anything to the juice and do not eat anything for 2 hours before and after.
