Herbs for Cancer
Cancer is an abnormal growth of cells which tend to spread in an uncontrolled manner. Cancer can be of many types depending on type of cell or organ in which it starts.
Causes of Cancer
Cancer may be caused due to smoking, exposure to UV Rays & inhalation of various industrial chemicals like benzene & vinyl chloride.
Treatment of Cancer with herbs
Some of Popular Herbal Remedies of cancer are:
- Essiac - Essiac has been used as an anti-cancer therapy in Canada for at least 70 years. It is a collection of bordock root, sheep sorrel, slippery elm & indian rhubarb. Analysis of these herbs has found that they contain a variety of compounds, which, in laboratory experiments, have antioxidant activity as well as the ability to block cell growth.
- Extract of sapium sebiferum - In this, the milky extract of sapium sebiferum is applied externally on cancerous wounds. Initially, it is used alone, but at advanced stages it is used in combination with other herbs (having latex).
- Root of tragia involucrata - It is used in the case of intense pain (not used for common pain and long-term use).
- Artemisia annua - helps to combat breast cancer. It's highly toxic to the cancer cells but has a marginal impact on normal breast cells.
- Mistletoe - It contains, two groups of toxins: viscotoxins and lectins. The molecular and pharmacological actions of viscotoxins are closely related to those of snake venom. They have cytolytic action and they dissolve cancer cells. The lectins are related to castor-oil plant lectins. The mistletoe lectins have cytostatic properties, i.e they inhihit the growth of cancer cells.
- Graviola - It is a product obtained from the forests of amazon. It is used to kill different types of cancer cells and hence cure lung, breast, colon, prostate and pancreatic cancers. Additionally, it actually boosts your immune system making the patient feel healthier and stronger and improves overall energy and outlook on life.
- Hoxsey Tonic (by Harry M. Hoxsey (1901-1974)) - It contains Potassium Iodide, Licorice, Red Clover, Burdock Root, Stillingia Root, Berberis Root, Poke Root, Cascara Amarga, Prickly Ash Bark, Buckthorn Bark. It is one of the longest-lived unconventional therapies of this century.
- Some of the chinese herbs used for the treatment of cancer are oldenlandia, selaginaella, sophora root, zedoania, red clover and sweet violet.
