Herbs are natural alternatives to pharmaceutical prescribed drugs. They help to build the immune system and to keep the body healthy.   2. Chamomile reduces nausea and acts as an anti-inflammatory agent. It increases a relaxed state of mind.
  3. Dandelion contains many natural minerals that prevent birth defects.
  4. Ginger helps to relieve morning sickness.
  5. Kelp is also rich in natural minerals that help prevent birth defects.
  6. Marshmallow Root can be used to promote milk production.
  7. Nettle is rich in calcium, iron and nutrients.
  8. Oat straw is rich in calcium and magnesium that help to reduce stress and fight infections.
  9. Papaya Mint can be used to reduce gas and heartburn.
  10. Peppermint can be taken to relieve heartburn.
  11. Psyllium can be used as a laxative.
  12. Red Raspberry Leaf is rich in iron, promotes milk production, prevents miscarriage, and decreases nausea and labor pains.
  13. Rose Hip is rich in vitamin C that helps to fight infections and fatigue.

Herbs such as: alder buckthorn; aniseed; bitter orange; caraway; celery seed; chili; cinnamon; cowslip; elder bark; fennel; fenugreek; garlic; lavender; licorice; marjoram; myrrh; nutmeg; oregano; parsley; passion flower; raspberry leaf; rhubarb root; saffron; sage; senna; thyme; vervain; wood betony; and yarrow should only be used moderately and under medical supervision.

  1. Aloe Vera because the leaves are purgative.
  2. Angelica stimulates uterine contractions and menstruation.
  3. Arbor Vitae stimulate menstruation and can damage the fetus.
  4. Autumn Crocus affects cell partition and may lead to birth defects.
  5. Barberry stimulates uterine contractions and can lead to a miscarriage.
  6. Basil Oil stimulates uterine contractions and is normally used to induce labor.
  7. Beth Root stimulates uterine contractions and should only be used during labor.
  8. Black Cohosh can lead to premature birth.
  9. Bloodroot causes uterine contractions and vomiting.
  10. Blue cohosh stimulates uterine contractions, but is safe to use during labor.
  11. Broom causes uterine contractions.
  12. Clove Oil causes contractions of the uterus but can be used during labor.
  13. Comfrey has toxins that enters the placenta and can lead to a miscarriage and defects in the fetus.
  14. Cotton Root causes contractions of the uterus.
  15. Devil’s Claw stimulates uterine contractions.
  16. False Unicorn Root affects the hormonal balance and should only be used under medical supervision.
  17. Feverfew stimulates uterine contractions.
  18. Ginseng can cause defects in the fetus.
  19. Golden Seal leads to uterine spasm.
  20. Greater Celandine causes uterine contractions.
  21. Juniper induces contractions of the uterus.

  27. Peruvian Bark can lead to blindness. It is only given under medical supervision to pregnant woman who suffer from Malaria.
  28. Pokeroot leads to birth defects.
  29. Pulsatilla causes menstruation.
  30. Rue leads to contractions of the uterus.
  31. Sassafras leads to contractions of the uterus and birth defects.
  32. Shepherd’s Purse is a uterine contraction stimulant.
  33. Southernwood leads to uterine contractions.
  34. Squill is a uterine stimulant and leads to birth defects.
  35. Tansy leads to uterine contractions and birth defects.
  36. Wild Yam leads to uterine contractions.
  37. Wormwood causes contractions of the uterus and leads to birth defects.

It is best to consult your doctor before you take any herbs during your pregnancy. Even the herbs for pregnancy should be used moderately.
