The low carb diet is indeed the most popular diet among the weight loss aspirers. Here are some facts to enlighten you further on this diet plan.

Low Carb Diet Fact #1: You Must consume as few Carbs as Possible

The key to success for a low carb diet lies in taking as few carbs as possible. The carb intake is restricted to a certain minimum level. So, high carb takers may face initial phases of starvation and craving for carbs and fatty foods while starting with this diet.

Low Carb Diet Fact #2: How it Works

Researches show that the dietary fat is not readily converted to the body fat, whereas the carbs are readily converted into fats by insulin action. In worst cases, there may be situation known as hyperinsulinemia, due to raised insulin in the blood levels which may lead in increasing weight in people.

For instance, on eating a high carb meal, the blood sugar level is increased and in turn stimulates the production of insulin by the pancreas. This hormone generally functions the blood sugar absorption by the blood cells, however, it also leads to fat accumulation and stimulates the brain for the hunger signals as a result of which you feel hungry.

Time and over the resistance to the insulin production and hence, three to four times more insulin would be need to be produced to keep up with the demand.

Low Carb Diet Fact #3: The Benefits

The simplicity of the diet is its major positive point of this diet. Feel free and do not panic over the calories you intake. Simply refrain to goad yourself whenever hungry.

Remember there is an important difference between the hunger and appetite. Hunger means that the body requires that much nutrition and you eat to fulfill that need whereas appetite is a personalized habit, you eat to please your own senses regardless whether you need it or not.
