Low carb is not No carbs

Following low carb diet does not take you miles away from carbs. All you have to do restrict to a certain amount of carb intake. Low carb diets e.g. Atkins is not a no-carb diet though the carb intake is restricted in such diets, but it is just for certain initial weeks only. Thereafter, you can increase the carb intake as and how prescribed.

The low carb diet is a standard term and includes diets like Atkins, South Beach, Zone, Protein Power and many others which restrict you on your carb intake. While some of these diets may not contain much of carbohydrates in their plan, others might focus on foods are rich in starch and sugar.

If you have genuinely decided to take a low carb approach to loose weight, then all you need is to indulge making yourself well informed and decide on the correct approach, be well informed about the substitutes and permissible alternatives. Plan your diet for the week judiciously and keep yourself motivated to achieve the goals you set for yourself.

The effect of a particular diet may vary from person to person. Some may be highly affected by the diet whilst others may have little or no effect by a particular regime. This is because all of us have different requirement for nutrients within our body. Hence it is advisable to go for a medical check up and based on the reports and previous medical history; the dietician would suggest the diet which would work best for you.

Also, the family history and inheritance may also affect the type of diet suitable for you. The diet may depend on the conditions like diabetes or other health risks. The low carb diet would indeed be a success provided that you have a strong dedication and determination to follow the diet regimen religiously.
